Hardly, any meal is served without vegetables, tomatoes included. Acting as a source of vitamins and roughage, demand for tomatoes is practically high. Hardly any meal can be prepared without the use of tomatoes in Kenya today. The market for tomatoes is readily available locally and internationally. Tomatoes can also be exported to neighboring countries like Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania. There is more demand for green house tomatoes. Tomatoes manufactured in green houses serve for all seasons year round. Their yield is high within a small area. On estimate, a single green house of about 100 meter square can produce up to 20 baskets of tomatoes per day.
